Bobby Gene Barnard: Obituary
Obituaries September 26, 2019Mr. Bobby Gene Barnard, age 71 of Palm Coast, FL formerly of Ellijay, GA passed on Monday, September 23rd, 2019 at the Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Mr. Barnard was born on June 20th, 1948 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents, Jerry Thomas and Vinnie Gooch Barnard. Bobby served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient. After his time of service, he owned and operated his own business, Barnard’s flooring. Bobby was of the Baptist faith and was a member of DAV. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Barnard, Joseph James, and Nephew, Darrel Bryant.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 28th at 2:00pm from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Gibbs and Bro. Larry Tankersley officiating. Military Honors will take place following the service at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion performed by the North GA. Honor Guard. Graveside interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Les Dillard, Lynn Dillard, Benny Tankersley, Bunk Elliott, David Westmoreland and Curtis Davis serving as pallbearers.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Ganene Barnard of Palm Coast, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Allison and Dakshinamurti Chirrauri of Australia, Bridie and Mike Fletcher of Michigan; son, Bradley Rapson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Samedh, Garrett, Annalissa, Kelsi, Madelyn, Joplin, and Astaria, sisters; Ann Barnard and Deborah James of Atlanta, GA; step-father, H.T. James of Ellijay, GA; nieces and nephew, Lauren, Leslie, and Joseph, special friend, Carol Willingham of Atlanta, GA.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm noon until the service hour of 2:00pm at the Logan Funeral Home.
Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to the Gilmer County Library at 268 Calvin Jackson Drive Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Barnard.
