Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Gordy

Fast & Furriest

Meet Gordy, a 6# chi who was born in July, 2021. He was surrendered along with 2 other chi’s who were living outside. Gordy is a loving little boy, very active and playful. He is getting along well with the fosters’ 2 male dogs. Because of his size and age, we would not recommend little children. Gordy is in a foster home where he is being house trained. He loves to take leash walks and snuggling in a blanket.

Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Micah

Fast & Furriest

Meet Micah, an 8 month old, 20 lb. lab/flat coat mix. Micah has had a tough life in such a short time. He’s recently been rescued from a hoarding situation with 25+ dogs. He has had limited experience with the human touch until he got to Homeward Bound. We are socializing him with the volunteers and other dogs. He is learning to trust. Micah has never been house trained and we are working on that but it takes consistency that only a home where someone can supervise regularly. He’s catching on and connecting the dots about what to do when he’s out walking. He’s an eager student and am sure he’ll do well.

Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Domino

Community

365 may be just a number to you but January 9th, will mark how many days Domino has been at the shelter at HBPR. That’s a long time in dog or people years. This boy is not only handsome but is smart. He knows commands; walks great on a leash; house trained; loves to do zoomies and play fetch; a great co-pilot and enjoys just snuggling with his person. However, Domino was not socialized when he lived in a home for a year and is a bit fearful when in public. Domino has had canine friends but would probably do best in a home where he is the only pet with adults and older children. He does not do well with small children or cats. He is 3 years old and weighs around 50 lbs.

Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Romi

Community

An unfortunate tale for this little guy named Romi.  He and his family found themselves without a home.  Once his family found temporary shelter, Romi was not welcome there.  We made him welcome at our shelter and found a very sweet, loving dog who enjoys the company of everyone; cats, dogs and kids.  He is around 10 years old; 13 lbs. and is ready for immediate adoption.  Come on!  Let’s get Romi home for Christmas!

Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Lulu Belle

Community

Meet Lulu Belle, a 2 ½ year old beagle mix who weighs in at 21 lbs.  At first glance, you’ll see her pretty face but what you don’t see is the suffering she had in the past as part of a hoarding/abuse case and living in a shelter for a year without anyone showing interest in adopting her or her 2 siblings.  LB is in a foster home now and is very comfortable with the fosters’ 4 dogs and cat.  In less than a week, she started showing signs of trusting humans and allowed petting without getting direct eye contact.  In one week, we found out that she loves snacks and has bonded with her foster dad who makes liver treats!  In 10 days, she was on foster dad’s lap giving puppy kisses.  There’s hope for her future but will have to be a family with a lot of patience as they introduce Lulu Belle to the world.  She is now walking well on a leash and wears a harness.  A fenced yard and a mature dog would be perfect to show her how to be a dog.

Homeward Bound Pet of the Week: Neemo

Community

Yes!  This is a posed picture of Neemo but the smile is genuine and this is how he greets everyone he meets.  Although Neemo has spent the last few months of his life in a shelter environment, his attitude stays happy and grateful for the attention paid to him.  He loves to chase balls and do figure 8 zoomies and would do well with a fenced yard.  He plays well with some of the dogs he’s been introduced to.  Neemo is around 3 years old and weighs close to 50 lbs.  He thinks he’s a lap dog!

Homeward Bound Pet Of The Week: Tobias

Fast & Furriest

Play ball……anyone?  Someone?  Tobias, Mr. Black Velvet himself, is a ball chasing, fetching, zoomies kind of guy.  It doesn’t matter the size or color of the ball.  It’s all a game for this almost 2 year old lab mix.  He also has a gentle snuggly side and loves to go walking on a leash.  Tobias is friendly to other dogs he knows.  As with any dog, a meet and greet with your pet(s) would be necessary to determine compatibility.

Homeward Bound Pet Of The Week: Huddy!

Fast & Furriest

This 13 lb. chi/pug blend, Huddy, was turned into animal control from

a backyard breeder.

He is slow to warm up but once he does, he is a “velcro pup” and
becomes very loving. He prefers the company of women and is fearful of men.
Huddy has issues like resource guarding and a bit of a quirky personality. We are
asking that only experienced adopters apply and that Huddy be an only pet.

Homeward Bound Pet Of The Week: Katie!

Fast & Furriest

Meet Katie, a 6 ½-year-old terrier mix who was adopted from HBPR 3 years ago.  It appears that her owners turned her out and let her fend for herself.  Katie and 2 other dogs relied on the kindness of strangers until animal control was called.  She is chipped, so they traced her back to us.  Katie is now safe with HBPR until we find her a real forever home.  Katie is around 33 lbs., house trained, well mannered, does not expect much, and is grateful for everything.  Sound like your kind of girl?
